Thanks for posting this. I’ve been fascinated by these women ever since visiting South Korea – sadly not Jeju Island. Do you know Lisa See’s book, The Island of Sea Women? It’s fiction, but is a sympathetic and illuminating picture of the lives of the Haenyeo women.
